This collection contains a wealth of Irish language material and ephemeral material from the early days of the Gaelic revival movements, as collected by Stiophán (1867-1921) and Ciarán (1905-1976) Bairéad. Síghle Bairéad (1903-1985) donated this material to the Library in 1976 in memory of her father Stiophán, first treasurer of the Gaelic League, and of her brother Ciarán, a collector with the Irish Folklore Commission.
