The Spalding Collection comprises 400 volumes concerned with Eastern and Middle Eastern culture, religion, art and history. The titles deal with a wide time scale and were published in the 19th and 20th centuries, the majority of which are 20th century inprints. There are no manuscripts in this collection.
Strength of the collection lies in its very specific subject matter, namely eastern and Middle Eastern culture, art, religion and history.

The titles in this collection were all purchased around the same time with donated finance, titles are no longer added to the collection.
