Development Studies Library

Collection of books and journals whose focus is developing countries. The library was established in 1987 to support Irish research into international development issues. Subject areas range from agriculture and aid through politics and history to women in a developing countries context.

Strengths

Unique university collection in Ireland devoted to developing countries bringing together diverse subjects under that heading. Database based on the collection. Users of the library can get a printout from the database on their subject of interest which guides them around the collection. DSL lends directly to users from outside UCD.

Physical characteristics

c. 6500 books, 5500 reports and 300 journals. Database 48,000+ entries.
