Crossle, Francis and Philip

Biography/History

Dr. Francis Crossle and his son Philip were responsible for considerable research on local family histories in the early 20th century. Dr Francis Crossle started by copying genealogical information from old newspapers which were in Newry library into large scrapbooks. His son, Philip Crossle transferred some of his father's findings into notebooks dedicated to particular family surnames. Philip Crossle carried out this work in the 1910s.
