The collection consists of letters from John Mitchel, Dr Thomas Addis Emmet, Alice Stopford, Lord Downshire and Standish O'Grady amongst others. The letters cover wide range of subjects relating to Ireland.
The strength of the collection lies in its size and in the fact that the letters are from noted commentators on Irish history.
