The Belfast Trades Council Archives held at the Linen Hall Library consist of the Minutes of meetings held 1885-1916, 1934-8 and 1945-1970. The Council was founded in Belfast durng a period of intense industrial activity against a background of significantly increased population. It played an active role in matters of public interest and was a central authority for Trade Unions.
The Minutes provide a particular insight into the history of Trade Unions in the city.
