Jewish Gazette

The opening paragraph of the first Jewish Gazette editorial neatly summarises the aims:

"Briefly, our purpose is to record and comment on Jewish activities in Ireland in every sphere, whether charitable, religious, cultural, or Zionist; to crystallise Jewish opinion in Ireland on subjects of controversial or general communal interest; and also to act as the forum from which every shade of Jewish opinion in the country will find its expression. We shall also endeavor to stimulate the literary and artistic talent which lies dormant in our midst, and, when possible, find an outlet in our paper for such talent."

The Jewish Gazette has been digitised and published online in its entirety:

This was the first journal of Jewish interest in Ireland and showcases a range of Jewish opinions and talents. It was also published in Belfast on the brink of a tragic historical era for European Jews.
